Hi everyone. Little Tristan, our puppy that came to us about three months ago is dying. After several visits to the vet it was determined that he has renal insufficiency. His phosphorus levels were high and his body was sucking calcium from his bones to balance the excess. In humans of course we could give dialysis or even kidney transplants but not for Tristan; he was being poisoned by his own body.
If he survives the night we will take him to the vet tomorrow and have him put to sleep. If we could have stabilized him with the medications he may have been able to live for another six months but that was not possible, and he has begun to suffer pain. We have given him painkillers and he is resting now.
I thought I would let you, my friends, know that about our dear Tristan
