There you go.....often when we went camping, we never took charcoal...just used the wood that used for the campfire, to cook our eats and treats....BigDom wanted to be like a cowboy, and just cook the food over wood...it was fun, we sure enjoyed doing that...

I am game for just about anything...

I prefer to use a good mix of Isopropyl and some oxy-acetylene.. makes the coals ready in under ten seconds.

I also have been known to use that awful pink sterno to start my campfires, and a mix of kerosene and engine start fluid at times......
