I will throw out an idea for public consumption, as it pertains to FR.In a time of War, most policy debates are irrelevant, and because of that, maybe goes some of the fire of FR.Unless one is a complete traitor, its hard to get exercised over the give and take of politics when at War, so is it any wonder that things have become more fractious around these parts when most probably know instinctively that the fights are about nothing?

Now, Nothing is a pregnant word, but, like George Will's observation that academic fights are so vicious because they have so little at stake, this could also apply to some of the arguements we see today on FR.Do the right wing fringe truly think their priorities trump the necessity of winning a War?Or is it hot air blown into the cyberspace to satisfy other personal vanities?

War has changed the dynamic on FR, more than any other matter. But it hasn't changed its usefulness, only altered its focus.Chat threads are more in evidence, but that goes with the times. And the cheese hole we are in isn't a bad thing, either :-)

I see you've got your smart cap on today. Great analysis in my opinion.

Where some of the folks on FR are coming from is foreign to my way of thinking and behaving. I want more scrambled eggs and less fighting. I may even look up this "porno" stuff that you mentioned earlier. ;-)
