They took the dogs to several homes in the immediate vicinity, but as I recall they had used Danielle's undies and were looking for a trail on Danielle. I do not know if they used the dogs to sniff out DW's scent in the VD home. If they did not, they are damn poor investigators. However, it was stated by the prosecution that no DNA or "other evidence" pointed to DW being in the VD home. Does that help answer your question???

I felt that way about the volunteers they used to search the MH. With the resources available (for instance, they had an FBI guy searching the computers), could they not have found a professionally-trained dog and handler??

Thanks a bunch. I guess I assumed from the previous answers that that info would have come out in the trial. You're right KC, very poor police work to say the least. LE suspected DW, what, two days after her disappearance? You'd think while they were waiting for him someone would have thought to send a dog over to the VD's. This just about su*ks!!
