it didn't stop the bugs after the body was dumped about 2/16
Interesting. Would those very time-specific blowflies still be attracted to tissue that had been frozen and then thawed out?
Anyone?

Well, I have no idea on earth why your own DNA would not match your own DNA! Who proposed that idea?
Now, if you're talking about why a rootless hair from your head would not match your blood... well, the hair from your head would have only mitochondrial DNA (from your mother only) while your blood (or saliva) would have DNA inherited from both your parents. That's why they wouldn't "match" exactly.
Your reply is above. I am talking about the MH sink drain trap hair with root (nuclear DNA, right?) matching 12 of 13 loci to the DNA extracted from Danielle's rib. Holland (?) the DNA guy said so.
Why doesn't it match exactly?

Oops....can't ask George
You can ask - but he ain't a-tellin'!

I don't think she was fozen just refridgerated.
The body has saved DW's butt. Poor LE thought they had him until the body was found at the wrong place and time. If they body had been found in wash 14 and the bug guys said it had been there since 2/2, would any of us think DW was innocent?
Yeah DUSEK,
DANIELLE is talking to us from her pyre,
and she's saying DW didn't do it!

The article I mentioned said the low-end of the housing market in the VD neighbourhood was approx. $300K....
...and for that you get a "monster-home" of 1800 sq ft! With no front yard!
To: John Jamieson
And bleach. Don't forget the bleach.

That's why I live in Texas. 1 acer on the lake, 3600 sqft, $140k

Yeah,I got to thinking about it-I grew up in a fairly rural part of Central Texas, and when I was a kid, that was still the way it was-with a few exceptions, everyone was pretty much related to everyone,if you went back 3 generations. I used to try to figure out who was kinfolks to who once in a while, but when back in those old German farm communities, all of the families tended to have kids by the dozen(literally). I regarded the chore as next to impossible after a few tries.

I'm sure this question has been asked in the past but I missed the answer and testimony. Did the detectives ever have the sniffer dogs go into the Van Dam residence to find DW's scent? You'd think that would be shouted from the rooftops if the dogs made a "hit."
To: NatureGirl
I use oxyclean2, dip the computer once a month.
To: the-gooroo
They had a super-special FBI dog do it.
To: the-gooroo
Every dog they could find.....including the FBI's finest blood hound, "The Nose".

(feeling really dumb, here)Duh! Now I get what you're asking! Sorry. My understanding was the hair root DNA was degraded so that only 12 of 13 loci from the root were available for testing against the DNA extracted from the rib.
And thanks for posting my comments! My apologies again for my dumb mistake there. Guess I'm tired.
Now, it seems to me, the hair may well have been in the sink trap for some time for the root's DNA to be degraded in that manner, but I'm no expert on such and don't stand on that at all.
I hope this answers your question. If not, please let me know and I'll try to explain further.

If they body had been found in wash 14..
That would have settled it for me. I was on the fence for quite a while.
For me, it was settled when Faulkner said he had to call the Medical Examiner, and ask him if he was sure about the date the body was placed there. That speaks volumes to me. That says that the only bias Faulkner had at that point was for the date range that he'd been given - the weekend of Feb 3-4. He went in expecting to find things that fit that date, but couldn't reconcile what he saw.
LE was working with him, he was working with the ME, the prosecution wanted him there...and he said, "Wait a minute. Something's wrong here."

That's why I am trying to find out how long it would take for the DNA in hair to degrade - she was supposedly in the motorhome less than a week before they found that hair!
So, if it's degraded, and it takes more than a few days for the DNA in the cells in/on the root to degrade, then it must be an old hair.

My husband pointed out a post on one of the Mac boards. Someone put their motherboard through the dishwasher - and it worked.
Haven't heard of anyone using bleach, though. Just you ;-)

That might fit a theory that impulsive Damon wanting the life insurance proceeds (if there were any) rashly gets with his out of town friend (outside the swinger and PD circle) takes the body from the warm, dry storage place it has mummified in and dumps it in a place where it would be easily found.
Why did Damon need an outside the group friend? Maybe because the others didn't trust him anymore -- that he somehow was involved with Danielle's demise -- witness the stoned stone faces the later part of the critical night.

That's IT! DW dressed her in the green coat and took her to Twin Peaks (music please) to be DRY CLEANED! "Detective Ott and Keyser, good job ! Now head on over to the Twin Peaks Drycleaners and get the items on this here reciept. Oh and take the ME with you."

Considering I'm running Windows on this computer, maybe I should try Windex?
