SIGNONSANDIEGO August 14, 2002 The judge in the trial of David Westerfield today allowed reporters to see court log entries of notes from jurors, as well as letters to the judge from the public about the murder of Danielle van Dam. The letters from the public included a variety of theories about the case.
One letter-writer sent the following theory to Judge William Mudd: "Danielle van Dam killed herself.'' A nearly illegible postcard with a Spokane postmark alluded to at least one ex-wife "with a drinking problem (who) lives in Spokane.''

The writer failed to indicate whether the reference was to ex-wives of Westerfield who has been married and divorced twice or someone else connected with the case. The postcard was unsigned. Another missive came from a man who referenced another high-profile murder trial that of O.J. Simpson. "The O.J. Simpson case was a miscarriage of the state's justice mainly because Judge (Lance) Ito was too lenient with the actors defending O.J.,'' the man wrote. There was no news Wednesday afternoon about the status of deliberations, but Mudd announced he was holding a sealed hearing 9:30 a.m. Thursday to consider an unspecified defense motion in the case. Wednesday was the fifth day of deliberations. The prosecution concluded its closing arguments last Thursday. Westerfield is accused of kidnapping 7-year-old Danielle van Dam from her Sabre Springs home and killing her. He could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted of murder with special circumstances. He has also been charged with misdemeanor possession of child pornography. The log entries show that on Friday, the jury requested ``all available evidence of pornographic images'' and a photograph of a teen-age daughter of the defendant's ex-girlfriend.

...bloody nose...cocaine...Danielle.... Yes, prolonged used or cut with something abrasive.
My daughter's best friend when she was Danielle's age got bloody noses all the time. No kidding, this was years ago, but she would get a nosebleed or two every time she spent the night. No impact necessary. Usually some physical activity, but somethimes just sitting there, she would start to bleed.
The mother was very nice to me. Her dad was wierd to her discipline-wise, but nice to me, and he was a systems analyst.
The way they fell out of our lives was strange. It was my daughter's b-day, they were in the middle of moving to another side of town, they called for directions to the party, and we never heard from them again. For two or three years they were inseperable, then just nothing.

The body has saved DW's butt. Poor LE thought they had him until the body was found at the wrong place and time. If they body had been found in wash 14 and the bug guys said it had been there since 2/2, would any of us think DW was innocent?
Yeah DUSEK, DANIELLE is talking to us from her pyre, and she's saying DW didn't do it!

Yeah right! Amazing.
Is it me, or are we supposed to believe the ridiculous in this case, & totally ignore things that could be plausible explanations?? I know...its not me.
Jaded, I have prayed that prayer a few times, thank you for posting it...been praying God will guide the jurors.

I have got to figure out if this could really be right. I think I'm going to do some transcript reading this evening and see if I can follow Ott from the beginning.
I have a feeling this could turn out looking very ugly.

That is not only scary, it's depressing as hell too.

DW saying this would be a good place to hide a body. Blue van. Damon says they'll be searching closer to Poway soon. Damon mad dogging DW added for effect.

I can't. I've been seeing a problem with LE for a long time. I've been following Wray (the shadow) for quite awhile, but none are above suspicion. IMO

Base salary or counting bribes and graft?
(I really have no idea.)
To: Krodg
Well, before I run off, how does Wray fit in?
To: crypt2k
I think if someone drove out in the California desert and asked me if it would be a good place to hide a body, I'd say yes. But then it wasn't there. It was under a large OAK tree, near water, a country club and casino.
To: John Jamieson
It was in a BAD place to hide a body, unless you wanted the insurance money.

Hi demsux.
I wrote this to The deejay recently:
I was thinking of Olive Garden Road here in Poway where we bought some things at a yard sale when we first moved here. However, I did locate William Libbys house on 9750 Oviedo Road in Rancho Penasquitos a few miles away. Windows were open but no indication of Embedded Inc. Halfway up on Oviedo, we had to slow down and wait for a vulture to move off the road; too weird!
Community and Midland Roads are within a mile of us. Deejay intimated that Bill Libby now lives at the above address. Hope this helps.

This makes me wonder which LE reported to the media "Overwhelming bleach smell". It had to be one of those that went to High Valley because that was the first time LE entered the MH........right? They didn't mention having a dog with them that time.
I read some where the LE staked DW's house out until DW got home on Monday. Monday was the 4th. so they must have had him fingered before Monday. As early as Saturday?
