How are things going at work? Any better?
/john
We really appreciate what you're doing and why you're doing it .... and in a way I envy you, too. You're getting the opportunity to really do something towards exacting justice on the evil ones. Most of us can only rant and rave about it.
I went down and got my uniform out of the dryer. All I have to do is spray it with heavy starch, wait 30-45 minutes, and start ironing. It's almost midnight, and I don't have to be ready for inspection until 9:00am. I should make it with plenty of time. Sleep? whazzat? LOL!
I won't be around tomorrow until after class. And I don't know when that will be. So, if anybody asks, I'm not going to be on the thread until probably after 6:00pm CST. I don't want people thinking I've gone AWOL from ATRW.

"It's not a bug, it's a FEATURE!" Yeah, go tell marketing. LOL!
I don't envy you your job, but I appreciate your work and effort at a (generally) thankless job.

And the defects were good ones. I remember working with a tester when I first started the job, he would write up the oddest stuff. "Move the mouse really fast 29 times, and you get the blue screen of death." And he meaured pixels too. "That warning message box is two pixels down from the previous one." Don't get me started, I can go all night on this tangent...so I'll be quiet now.
To draw a historical analogy from Kipling's poetry of the same place, many years earlier, think of my job as that of Gunga Din. Combat Services provides the same kind of thing. Water, food, laundry, shelter, gym, mortuary.... any service(not infrastructure) that is needed.
It's not the most glamourous job, but it's the one I could get.
I'm not the tip of the spear, but I get to polish the tip.

I've known guys like that. Sometimes, they have a point, when dealing with stack-depth, or how the app reacts with the standard api's. But, mostly, they like to break things.
My reply to the really fast 29 times mouse thing? "Don't do that"

lysie, jtill, kayak, illstillbe, still lurking, enjoyed your childhood reminiscences ... *sigh*, times have really changed.
:(
kayak, thanks for the awesome "United We Stand" graphic and great links you've been providing for us. ken's thread is so clever. I enjoyed your interesting tidbits about your acquaintanceship with the wife of the Marine One pilot. Any luck today scouting for an office?
UG, the Chavez baby is such a beautiful child. Thanks for that pic and touching excerpt. Praise God that she was returned to her family safe and sound. More thanks offered for the good news about baby Jacob, as well. I hope your employer is giving you at least some of the recognition and appreciation you deserve. You are really on the ball, girl.
My last night of dealing with Navy, and my last night of nights. Yea!!!!Yippee! Hi there, /john, it's so nice to see you tonight. I was wondering how you manage to stay up so late freeping after a demanding day and still be up bright and early the next morning for inspection, then saw your comment about sleep/WHAZZAT? LOL. I don't know how you do it. I'd like to echo kay's comments in #206 and add my thanks and appreciation to you, as well. I think it must be angel time:
As it stands now, we're looking to move possibly the first of November.
Please remind me again of when you're going on vacation. Is it starting the 18th?
(((((Lorena)))))
It is. Send angels that can iron.
All I do is what I can. What any man that cares about freedom will do, if he is able. I am honored to be allowed to serve.
Speaking of service... Thank you for yours.
