I was sitting here with the door open and the dog out on his run (he usually runs free but I tied him tonight for some reason) I heard the neighbors dog start barking up a storm then my dog went Nuts!
I leaped to the door and turned on the outside light and found myself just a few feet from an easy 300# bear. He had walked right past the dog before he was noticed and made it up on the porch..the dog got himself tangled up long enough for me to get to the door and spook the bear even more. Well then the dog gets himself unstuck and goes straight for the bear.
I grabbed his run cable as he went by and just got him reeled in as the bear was going up the Oak tree on the shore. Once I got the dog reeled back onto the porch the bear made a mad dash across my neighbors porch and down the shoreline..last I heard of him was someone a few cabins down yellin "OH SH*T" I can't believe the bear actually made it by the dog and to the front door!! Let's not talk about critters any more OK..I think someone here is phsycic.
