You are on the ball, collecting at 62....I am just surprised at the number of people who want to wait until 65, or 66 or even 70, thinking that they will be so much more ahead....in fact, most people wind up behind, tho it all depends on how long you live...

But even if you live long enough to start getting ahead on you SS payments, your health may be such that all that money winds up going to a nursing home, or you just may not be well enough to enjoy the money...

Like my dad said, when offered full retirement from his company at age 59...."I'm outta here, man, I am no dummy, give me the money, and I am gone"

And mom and dad both collected their SS at age62....dad died when he was 67, and mom died when 71...so had they waited until they were 65 to collect their SS, they would have lost out...

Gran, your pics of Chloe yesterday were just divine...shes such a cutie, and she just looks like a happy, sweet contended babe....you have told us she was an unexpected, unplanned surprise, but what a sweet surprise she was...sometimes those are the best...
