It has to be difficult at time, I think, not knowing how to drive...but its very common, or at least it was more common when we were growing up, to not know how to drive...we lived in the big city, with lots of available public transportation, the buses, the cabs, the subways, and it was really unnecesary to learn how to drive...

And they did not have as much Drivers Ed, in the high schools as they do today...I dont think my old high school even had a drivers ed program, when I was there...

But I noticed that in the high school Mike started out in North Carolina, drivers ed was mandatory...And Andy took drivers ed here when he was 15...so things have changed...

Even today, one does not really have to know how to drive to get around in big cities....there is enough public transportation available...

The only reason I learned to drive, while still in the city, in Chicago, was because I had kids, and wanted to know how to drive, in case of an emergency I did have to bother my parents or BigDom or a neighbor..and once I learned to drive I loved it, because I could take the kids anywhere, to the zoo or museum or the park, just for fun, and if BigD0m wanted to stay home and watch sports, by my learning how to drive, I could just take the kids and not bother him...

But I did not learn how to drive until I was 28....when Mike was 5 and Andy was just 1...so I waited a really long time...

Andy says I am an odd driver, kind of skittish sometimes, not always as confident and bold as I should be...he thinks BigDom is a much better driver....not because they are men, and I am the woman, but because its really better to learn how to drive when you are young, instead of 'older' like I was...When I met BigDom he had been driving since he had been 16...and he had a flashy red thunderbird...that was some fine car...

Dizzy has been kind of quite today...while I was at the store, BigDom was still sleeping and he had the bedroom door closed...he woke up about an hour before I returned, and when he opened the bedroom door, Dizzy came bounding in immediately, and jumped up on the desk, and sat in his favorite window, enjoying the air...

BigDom called to me, when I came home, and he wanted to see something...so I went into the bedroom, and there was Dizzy, passed out, sunk all big and puffy and heavy on the bed quilts...he snoozed there for over an hour, after I got home...

Eventually he woke up, and I left his grocery bag, with his treats on the floor, and he found it, poked his head inside, and meowed, signalling that he was ready for treats...

He had several treats, got some pets, and then disappeared and I havent seen him since...

Now Palo, you did it...he has been in hiding for hours, and just now, Bigdom came into the computer room, and advised me that Dizzy has reappeared, is sitting on top of his condo, and that means I should get out into the family room, and pet him, feed him treats and generally spoil him...

So, I need to go for a while ...
