I am a reasonable person, and I would do EXACTLY what my attorney told me to. That is the reason for hiring an expert.

Was the ground blood-soaked under the body? There would have been lots of blodd there if that is where animals feasted on her initially.

I would seem that way, but no. Blood pressure drops to zero upon death, so no bleeding. (Except in the case of post-mortem wounds made underneath the body, in which case there may be some blood leaking out due to gravity.)

Hi Mommma Lou, the other possibility is he was smart enough to wear gloves, hat etc ..before entering the house.

I'd say, he just doesn't get it and never will. He is so misinformed about all the facts. *giggle*

So the odds are good that Billybob is a real congress-critter ?

Westerfield raped

You keep demonstrating your complete lack of knowledge concerning the facts in this case.

Where is the evidence of rape? Did I miss that testimony and/or evidence? Are juries now allowed to make their own facts?

It might be best for you to avoid such a forceful attitude, since we now all know that you haven't watched the trial.

Just a suggestion before you make more of a fo...........well never mind.

HER blood on HIS jacket. HER hair in HIS bed. HER thumbprint on HIS bedside table. Child porn on HIS computer, which he blamed on his son who denied it under oath.

John,

I have followed this trial very closely. There was no testimony that her hair was in his bed. The partial thumbprint was actually on a cabinet; an upper one, if I recall correctly. The handling of the 'blood' on the jacket was poor, at best. No photo taken before it was cut out and apparently the entire alleged 1-3/16" spot was destroyed in testing and whether it was actually blood or not does not seem to be firmly established.

As for the 1/4" alleged blood spot on the MH carpet; once again, no photograph taken prior to cutting it out of the carpet, and the entire sample was destroyed in testing. Seems to be a bit of a problem with chain of control.

The work by the SDPD and the prosecutor appears to have been very sloppy. DW may have done it; but there is much that could lead a reasonable person to conclude that there is reasonable doubt. If DW did it, I don't think the evidence in this trial proves it. Even if convicted, I think he will get a new trial on appeal. If aquitted; it will be because of the bugs.

As for the porn; the prosecution's witnesses attempted to portray it all as being downloaded by DW when much of it was downloaded by his son. In this area, both the prosecution and defense lied.

Don

P.S. I always enjoy reading your columns on your web site and your comments on FR.

"Any verdict of guilty, in my opinion, will be the result of a generalized hysteria sweeping this country involving child abductions and child pornography."

I agree.

How convenient it is, to see people who have never contributed to these threads for the last 6 months, suddenly come on board when they smell a guilty verdict.

It's safe and easy to go with the popular opinion, isn't it?!

Yep.........very disheartening.

There's a perfect example of it right here. Someone jumps in wishing harsh punishment for a man whose trial he has little knowledge about.

The news media says he's guilty..........hmmmmmmmm.......must be so. I expected better from otherwise sensible people.

Regarding the porn in question, namely the 100 or so images of supposed child porn.

Are they of pre-pubescent girls or girls over 18 who are posed to look under 18?

I am sure this has been discussed but figured you could provide me an answer.

Has Nancy Grace stated for the record that they are actual photos of prepubescent girls?

Don't forget the night vision goggles..Kim. He wore those too. The picture of Hazmat Dave is really truth, NOT fiction?!

Probably brought some hamburger to toss at Layla to keep her busy, while he grabbed the kid. Course, I was thinking that he actually "gassed everyone asleep" in the whole house, while he wiped his prints off of everything and kidnapped the child"..Then where did he hide his gas-mask? Doesn't matter, let's say "he just did". Works for the Prosecution.

I have a problem with Westerfield having done all this the night in question being completely drunk as testified by witnesses. Care to speculate on that.

The more or less honorable Congressman Billybob is a radio talk show host and political commentator. He is usually very interesting. I am not sure what he is thinking about in this post, however. Perhaps he is trying to stir up some conversation for his talk show.

In all fairness to Congressman Billybob, he is a very busy man and likely has not followed the case nearly as closely as many who post on these threads. That said, one ought to be very careful to rush to discount his opinion about this case.

He is a very intelligent and smart lawyer who is widely known and respected throughout the legal community. If I recall correctly, Congressman Billybob was invited by the U.S. Supreme Court to submit an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the Bush v. Gore case regarding the First Amendment issues and his brief pretty much served as the foundation of the USSC's decision and opinion.

Congressman Billybob is also part of a group of First Amendment lawyers that are working to get the unconstitutional campaign finance reform legislation declared unconstitutional.

When it comes to First Amendment issues, Congressman Billybob is THE MAN!

Many of you would do well to check out the links he posts in his replies.

Right, Southie...If the Jury watched CTV or listened to Rick Roberts, he is toast.

Nancy Grace led the campaign to convict him the DAY he was arrested.

These "usually sensible" people on this forum who are taking us on.. should be asking themselves WHY so many of the rest of the "usually sensible" people are questioning DW's guilt?
