Perhaps Liz awoke when the "burglar" entered her bedroom. Lots of burglars bring guns to the crime scene -- that is not unusual at all.

Have to be a pretty stupid burglar to wear light clothing at night, though.

Someone convicted five times with six more charges filed and others pending might not be described as the brightest bulb on the tree.

It seems very odd to me that an experienced burglar would choose to go into the bedroom of children. Was he looking to steal a piggy bank? I'm sure he would know where in the house valuables would most likely be kept, and he must have been looking for small items, i.e. jewelry, cash, because as we know, he did not have a getaway car parked out front.
