The vet told us our Door-ie cat was a silver-tipped Maine Coon. She looked black but her hair was silver next to the skin. He said those sell for about $1,000. She weighed approx 25 pounds. We have an old-fashioned bell on our front porch that we would ring to call her to come into the house. She would come running.

My cat was all pure white undercoat, then rising to the
top, light grey/silver to darker grey, and charcoal to black
on top. His throat was & paws were white. His eyes were a deep golden color.
I still miss him and sometimes find stands of his hair
here and there.
