I normally see a velvet ant once every two or three years.

This year I've seen half a dozen of them in the last month alone.

Since velvet ants are pests which will sting the bejezus out of you if they get half a chance, any such increase in their numbers is a negative outcome which must be due to some Republican misbehavior.

But, for the life of me, I can't figure out the specific misbehavior that's likely to be at fault.

I saw a lot of "cow killers" last year. So far, I haven't seen any this year. Maybe they moved; you can have 'em.
