I know about the Willie Crane case (at least I think this is the right guy). The mom picked him up in a bar and spent the night with him. He stole her daughter and apparently took her to his trailer. Her blood was found in the trailer. You're right - sounds pretty similar to this case on the surface, but Willie Crane is an obvious freak, and two women who said that he molested them as children came forward at the time of his arrest.
