Well, the stand isn't quite the same as a protracted interrogation for hours on end. I acknowledge the possible down side, but think that could have been ofset by a long session with his own attorney asking questions he could hit out of the ballpark. That's my take.

Thank you so much for your post!
There is no verdict that is acceptable to all sides.
The solution I have is to pray earnestly for God's will to be done. I have and I'm assured that will be the result.
To: Jaded
Sounds good. Take care.

At one time, I would have thought, "police planting evidence, yeah, right", but after following this trial, I have changed my mind and think it is entirely possible. Me too. It's so Johnny Cochran and so not me to go down this road, but............
Kinda makes me go hmmmmmmmmmm.
It sure does and over and over again. My gut told me from the start that something was wrong with this picture and as it unfolded, it became more wrong, IMO.

Listening to Court TV.. it is so nice that Nancy Grace is giving such an unbiased and informative verbal coverage of the "goings ons"..../not////blah

Seems to me that Westerfild would have been a very powerful witness And he still may be. This is only the beginning. If convicted there will be an appeal.

I have a question for you. You have a relative in LE, don't you? Have you asked that relative (recently) if anything seems unusual about this case?
To: DoughtyOne
I do understand your position on this. I have very mixed feelings about it myself.

They can sometimes make white look convincingly black. Sometimes, sometimes not :
24 Q. FOR INSTANCE, YOU CAN LOOK AT ME AND SEE WITH
25 CERTAINTY THAT I'M WEARING A GREY SUIT MORE OR LESS, RIGHT?
26 A. YES.
27 Q. BUT IT'S POSSIBLE THAT I'M WEARING A RED TIE, ISN'T
28 IT?

1 A. NO, BECAUSE I SAW YOU WERE WEARING A YELLOW ONE.
2 Q. OKAY. THAT DIDN'T WORK.
E for effort Mr. Feldman !

In the end we are asured God's will, will be done. This I believe. On the other hand, much happens every day that isn't His will. Thank goodness judgement day will rectify this. Thank goodness the blood of His Son purchased the souls of the Danielle's among us. I don't believe that little Danielle's final chapter has been written yet. Can a final chapter be written for those who live on the new earth? The ultimate outcome of sin will be revealed. God will be vindicated.

LOL, fallen from grace...

I have a question for you. You have a relative in LE, don't you? Have you asked that relative (recently) if anything seems unusual about this case?Yes and I asked him what was up with all this questionable police stuff. His answer was, "It's SDPD; what did you expect?" Weird, huh?
To: Kerensky
Actually the defendant will not have a chance to appear during the appeals.
To: Krodg
And I realize there are bonified down sides to taking the stand, so we're in agreement. Thanks.
To: DoughtyOne
Amen! Praise God!!!

"So Johnny Cochran"......LOL
You know I've always been the idealistic type, and I hate that I'm becoming so disillusioned about some things (like trusting the police), but like many have said, this could happen to any one of us if the circumstances were right.
As far as I'm concerned, politics played a part in this case, and it's so sad. If DW is convicted, I will accept it, but I will always believe that if LE (and Judge Mudd for that matter)had been more fair and objective, things would have been vastly different.
Corrupt LE is a bit like terrorism. If I were a single man, like some have posted here, I would watch what I do very carefully.
To: FresnoDA
Earlier Nancy showed the court tv poll and DW had I think 11% for innocence.
She literally said, " I guess David Westerfeld logged on and voted for himself 11 times."
I was even shocked.....

Corrupt LE is a bit like terrorism. Yep.....and add a pending election where a popularity-declining DA is running opposed for the first time and you have a formula for just about anything.
Politics grips stronger than most anything in the hearts of those that seek its intrinsic power.
To: alisasny
Excuse my tongue, but Nancy Grace is a Clinton-loving, liberal ass.
That alone endears me to Westerfield even more. Any enemy of Nancy must be a friend of mine.
