SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) --A San Diego jury began deliberations Thursday in the trial of David Westerfield, accused of kidnapping and killing 7-year-old Danielle van Dam.

The panel of six men and six women adjourned for the day without reaching a verdict. It is set to resume deliberations Friday.

I don't know if you heard this from me or not, but my daughter works for a doctor who lives on the same street as the van Dams and Westerfield. Her children even played with Danielle.

When my daughter finally got the nerve to mention the case she asked, "So is DW the neighborhood monster?" The doctor answered that he was the nicest guy you could want to meet.

We took that to mean the whole neighborhood doesn't appear to be in the VD camp; not by a longshot.

That is the same way I've viewed DW from the prelim & I didn't know him or anyone in that area. And my view of him hasn't been changed. I am totally unbiased & have been from the beginning.

We moved here from the East Coast ~ 4 years ago. Crime is very low and it's very nice town. We were floored when all this happened.

We have ventured into Sabre Springs but not to the house(s).

I didn't even know where Dad's Cafe was until I drove by on my way to GoodYear (express Tire) one block away on Poway Road.

My interest is simply this:

During the PH, DVD or BVD, I forget which, was asked if Bill Libby ever spent the night at the VD home. Whomever it was said "no". Why did he ask that question, he did not ask if any of the other pizza partiers had "spent the night"?

During his opening statement, Feldman "promised" that we would hear "more" about Bill Libby, unfortunately, for some reason, he did not bring up Bill Libby.

It's not Feldman's job to find the killer, but I think he has a pretty good idea of who the "real" perp(s) is/are.
