It's too bad about your tree, ISB. Cherry wood is some beautiful wood, but it takes about 3 years or so to dry it properly for wood working (without a kiln). I've turned some beautiful wooden cups out of boise de arc wood that we cut off of the old property. Cherry makes for beautiful bowls.

I was picturing you rubbin' your hands together at the prospect.

Well ... 'twas a tired fellow ... had been leafing out less and less as the years went on. Louis saved a large section which I will put on my deck as a reminder ...
