I realize it is hard, but think of all the good he is doing, and will do.

When he gets home, will he go on active duty or will he go to school? I can't remember what you told us about that.

He goes right on to AIT in Ft. Lee, VA right after graduation. We still don't know if he can come home for a day in between, but it doesn't look like it yet.

He thinks he can have a cell phone there, and they get some weekend passes, so it will be considerably freer than basic.

He finishes that in November, and goes to College (in Minnesota) in January, where he'll put in his weekend per month, and two weeks in the summer. If he's still considering a military career, he'll get Officer's training. It's a 6 year commitment which began in August of 2001, so it will end a year after he graduates from College, paid for entirely by the Army, thank you George W. Bush!

Oh, I should tell you that another young man came up to Eric and asked him if he minded if he asked him a few questions about the Bible. He wanted to know about the miracles in Matthew, so Eric shared some other Scripture passages and talked about them with him.

This guy had not ever talked with him before, so it was sort of "out of the blue."

He said again how deeply he felt the prayers being said for him. This whole thing is amazing to me, even after 40+ years of walking with the Lord. He is indeed an AWESOME God!
