FReeper In Crisis Needs Prayer and Practical Support
August 2 2002

Posted on 08/02/2002 9:36:32 AM PDT by sweetliberty

There is a FReeper with a crisis. Three days ago her husband was arrested and has two $30,000 bonds on him. I don't think an open forum is the best place to get into particulars, but let's just say that this is the second time in the past 8 or 9 months that this woman has been hit with a life shattering doozie due to the pathological lying of her husband of 3 years.

She does not intend to divorce him, although it isn't out of the question, but neither does she have any intention, or capability to bail him out. She is finding out a great many things the hard way, and the latest is that he had told her that they had money in the bank. She has discovered that that is not the case. Now she is faced with having to move her and their 4 kids from Texas to New Hampshire. She has been a stay at home mom for the past 3 years, but she has a job waiting for her, as well as family, if she goes to NH.

I know that prayer works wonders, and already another mother in the neighborhood has arranged to get a greatly discounted airfare for 2 of the children to go on ahead of them. One of her biggest concerns is breaking down on the move and having nobody to call. The only transportation she is left with is a pick-up truck that is damaged due to being in an accident, and she will have to rent a U-Haul. That is such a long drive.

I also do not want to post her identity on the forum. I certainly don't want to cause her any embarassment. I do ask your prayers for her for the meeting of the many needs she and the children will have over the next few weeks and for her ability stay focused and find peace in the midst of a chaotic situation. The children are already having a lot of fallout due to other kids in the neighborhood.

I know a few of you know this lady and are near enough to the route she would take to be available in the event she needed assistance on the road. You can contact me via FReepmail if you have questions or ideas. I have suggested to her that in the interim while she is trying to get things together for the move, that she see what assistance might be available to her. I am not familiar with the situation in Texas so I have no idea what resources she might be able to tap. Bums and illegals don't seem to have any trouble getting what they need. It certainly seems there should be something available for somebody who has paid plenty into the system. Hopefully some of you in Texas can provide some suggestions in that regard.

FReepers are the most resourceful people I have ever run across, and despite rumors to the contrary, some of the most compassionate....with exceptions of course, but we won't go there. I figure y'all would come up with some ideas for her to work with. This is a good lady and she certainly doesn't deserve the hell she is dealing with.

She needs to protect her children and herself. All the other stuff is not important. Been there, done that. Prayers for her children's safety and for her to see the light.

Thanks to both of you. She does have my phone number. I will maybe make up a list of FReepers and locations along the way so that if there are any problems I'll have a quick reference.

Yes, I heard about your recent ordeal and was praying for you. Lodwick was keeping me posted whenever I checked in. I was gone a lot. I am so glad that your son is okay.

In her case, it has nothing to do with domestic abuse. I didn't mean to create that impression. But he may be out of the picture for quite awhile and will hopefully have an opportunity to rethink his priorities and realize how blessed he is to have someone who is willing to give him room to grow through his mistakes. But in the meantime, she is on her own and has to do what she has to do to take care of the children.

My prayers are with your friend and her family. I hope she knows what she's doing and that it won't take another big one to realize that there's a difference between forgiveness and reconciliation! You have my contact info if I can be of any further help.
