I don't let Ricci off the hook at all -- too many unanswered questions about the Jeep, plus his history, means, possible motive, and opportunity.

Lots of guys have hair on the backs of their hands. I wonder how many guys in SLC had to endure their wives checking their hands when that description came out.

Personally, I think the white pants were a nice touch -- too many people wear dark colors at night and it makes them hard to see.

I received a threatening freepmail this AM from JG and have printed it out for my file. That's how I knew JG was going to SLC tonight for two weeks and posted a comment this AM.

That is an absolute crock. I did send you a private FReepmail, but certainly never threatened you or anyone else.

Oh boy, here come all the folk that are intoxicated with their hatred of Ed Smart and the family.

What a silly statement -- really not worthy of a real freeper.

Why would anyone on this thread "hate" the Smart family? Or their religion. I suppose if someone speculated that polygamy might be involved in the case, you would call it "hatred?"

I spend a lot of my time talking to children, and I have my moments when I talk to adults like that, too. No adult with untied shoelaces gets past me! :-)

BOYLAN: And I can talk about the state of mind that Mary Katherine is in. I know a lot of people have inquired. And I'm delighted to report that she's a very strong child. She's very committed to assisting in this search for Elizabeth. Her mental state is -- she's very alert, very astute, extremely articulate, and was quite good to work with in terms of my particular job.

I've read/heard this theory before; that Liz had this thing planned and promised MK to "come and get her" after things quieted down.

With Boylan and the other professional psychologists and profilers that have talked to MK I don't think there's much chance that she hasn't told them a straight story. LE may have amended her story in what they've told the public, but I don't think there's much chance MK was in on anything. And with the deathly scream Dr. Voss heard in the hills above his house that started all the dogs in the neighborhood barking on the morning of Jun 5, I'm convinced it was not a boyfriend that took Elizabeth out of her bedroom.

This reminds me of the golf course in California that was busted a few months ago for having hookers working in tents on the fairways. Just imaging how many women heard that on the news and said "No wonder that bum never misses a weekend of golf and always plays that course."

That's a perfect (although rather absurd) example of the truth being stranger than fiction!

Many reporters still use the word "allegedly" in the description of the abduction. I find that fascinating.

I would say it's a huge clue.

I've heard scientists try to say that men are brain damaged in the early stages of fetal development, but I don't know if it's true or not.

I think reporters routinely stick "allegedly" into just about everything, even when it isn't necessary -- to avoid possible litigation.

I've read articles in which women were "allegedly" raped, and drivers never cause accidents any more -- their cars do.

Nah ... it's just that when compared to women (we are the Gold Standard), men appear to be that way! Joking ....

#126 - One of the brothers said that his mother screamed when she saw the cut screen...a sound that would have carried out the open window.

If, as we have been led to believe, MK didn't awaken her parents till 4 a.m., we need the doctor's time-frame that the sound was heard.

And, it could have been a coyote. If you've ever lived around coyotes, you'd know they have the ability to produce a number of different sounding, often blood-curdling screams. One night, I thought they were attacking my neighbor's horses.

Funny, I've never heard any reporter use the word "allegedly" in the description of the abduction. Give an example.
