Special thanks to Brigette for starting this timeline. |
I have looked all over the web for that picture that I know is out there. Yes, he is very tall.
If you can, then freepmail me with it, and I will give you my site.
I say....First off...the police HAD to speak with her right after this happened, or shortly after. Yet someone said or posted last night I think, that Mr. Smart stated the Police had told him NOT to talk to MK. Why? They(the police) had already talked to her..did they not want them to say anthing to her, and cloud her testemony? The way I hear Mr. Smart, is that they didn't want to ask little Mary any questions. right? He said they didn't talk to her about it.
Then..we are not clarifying why we are not putting out a composite."..
First, they said she heard the voice..Second, they said they wouldn't tell us why they were not putting the composit out to the public.WAIT A MINUTE HERE !!!!! LOOK AT THE DATE OF THIS ARTICLE !!! JUNE 19TH, 2002....They had a composit on June 19th ????????????Maybe I am reading that wrong.
They didn't say..." We are not taking a composit."..They say..." We ae not clarifying why we are not putting out a composit." HUH ???
Could it be, that when they talked to little Mary Katherine, she recognised the voice and told them who the voice belonged to? Did they have a sketch early on ? Or didn't they need a sketch after talking to her, and she heard the voice? Very interesting.
As much as we want information..the Police I think are doing a great job. I think they know exactly what they are doing, and more to the fact..the pariah media is a hinderence in many ways in these high profile cases.
If the public can see something is fishy here...then the Police know it.
I think it MAY be big, and it may be coming soon. I pray that it isn't unsolved like Chandra. I think also some of us may end up being very surprised.
Are you sure about this? What is your source?
Perhaps we should all make a solemn vow not to engage in any "I told you so" when the time comes. I hereby vow.

shallow
It's not shallowness, it's basic ignorance. Ed Smarts' speaking function matches Bella's grasp of basic logic.

Actually, I never even noticed this before until it was pointed out by a few freepers and in a post when someone was ready to scream everytime they heard it, and I was just responding to the post, not bashing anyone as you are. BTW, I really don't owe you or anyone an explanation and you can call it whatever you want but I'm sure you remember all the public criticisms made against Ricci, the wife, the parents, the trailer trash people, etc., why didn't you get on your bandwagon then? Is this "do as I say, not as I do"?, and you do know the term for this.
Ricci Appears in Court on Theft Charges
Thursday, August 1, 2002
BY KEVIN CANTERA
THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE
Career criminal Richard Albert Ricci -- the man scrutinized by police for weeks as a potential suspect in the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart -- appeared in court Wednesday, accused of stealing from the Smart home when he worked odd jobs for the family last year.
Elizabeth's father, Ed Smart, attended the brief hearing and later met for nearly half an hour with Ricci's wife, Angela Ricci, and her father, David Morse, in the office of a court administrator.
"I was pleading for her help," Smart said. "I pleaded with her to please ask Richard to tell the truth. . . . I don't need any more lies."
Smart said Ricci has withheld information from police about his whereabouts and the location of his Jeep at the time Elizabeth disappeared early June 5. Smart gave Ricci the Jeep last year as partial payment for handyman work.
"If it's Richard, he needs to let us know where [Elizabeth] is. If it's not Richard, he needs to get out of the way," Smart said. "He needs to come forth and say what he was doing."
Smart said Angela Ricci maintained her husband was innocent and she told Smart "she was praying for us."
Police have yet to name a suspect in the case, but continue to say Ricci is their strongest potential suspect.
"His status is remaining fairly constant. [Ricci] is certainly still a focus of what we are doing," Salt Lake City Police Chief Rick Dinse told The Salt Lake Tribune. "There is nobody who has replaced him" at the top of the list of suspects.
Elizabeth was snatched from her bedroom by an armed intruder, an abduction witnessed only by the 9-year-old sister who shared her bed. The younger girl, who feigned sleep, has given police a partial description of the perpetrator but has not pointed to Ricci.
In June 2001, Ricci did small repairs in the Smart family's Federal Heights home, from which he allegedly stole about $3,500 worth of jewelry and other items. Police discovered the stolen articles when they searched Ricci's home two weeks after the kidnapping.
The alleged theft, and an earlier nighttime burglary of another Federal Heights home, led prosecutors to charge Ricci with two counts of misdemeanor theft, one count of burglary -- a second-degree felony -- and a charge of being a career criminal, a first-degree felony that carries a possible life sentence.
Third District Judge Randall Skanchy entered innocent pleas on Ricci's behalf on all counts. His next court appearance is set for Aug. 27.
Ricci's lawyer, David K. Smith, withdrew as Ricci's attorney, citing financial concerns. Ricci, who has been found indigent, will be given a public defender, Skanchy said.
Smith said Ricci was moved to the maximum-security Uinta 1 cellblock, which houses Utah's 11 death-row inmates, for security reasons. In court Wednesday -- where Ricci appeared bedraggled and wearing shackles -- four plain-clothes prison officers stood guard near the defendant.
Meanwhile, police continue to "beat the bushes" for leads in Elizabeth's disappearance, said Salt Lake City police Sgt. Fred Louis. "We will not be reducing the number of detectives" working the case, Louis said.
Although eight weeks have passed since he last saw his daughter, Ed Smart remains satisfied that police are doing a good job, saying that he speaks with detectives every day.
The family has pared down their news conferences from five each week to three, but Smart pledged to continue doing whatever he can to crack the case: "I am going to be involved every step of the way."
define "big"....and can you give your prediction on who they are suspecting....you seem to have some good insights..thx
but honestly, I don't know who is responsible....wish I did...but, no matter what,, there are some strange people involved in this...
On Fox ch 13 tonight they showed Ed Smart's press conference on Ricci and how Ed Smart talked to Ricci's wife and asked her to try and make Ricci confess to the whereabouts of Elizabeth. Right after that they interviewed and ex (I think they said ex)FBI agent in SLC. The agent said "The Smart case has gone downhill since the family contaminated the crime scene. They need to leave Ricci alone and look deep into the Smart family because that is where the answer is."
Hasn't it been said how many times that they do KNOW what's going on...
