This BS sort of reminds me when my youngest daughter was in the 8th grade. She was quiet when she came home from school one day, but by the next morning my oldest daughter is telling me I need to see her hip. So I trudged up the stairs and asked to see the hip, which she didn't want to show me....there was a bruise about the size of a saucer.
In finding out the details, it seems as though one of her teachers got mad at her for the look on her face, so he took a folding chair and whacked her.
Husband caught me going out the door cause I was heading for the school. Forced me back in the house to calm down. As I told the principal, the dumb sumabeach could have called me and I've have called in a crowd to sit and applaud him if he wanted to whup her ass in the middle of the gymnasium--but the dumb sumabeach wasn't gonna hit my kid with a chair with me applauding. I asked him what the school board was going to do to discipline this POS, and was informed they would put a letter of reprimand in his personnel folder!
I told him that wasn't good enough, got up to head for the classroom to cold cock the dumb sumabeach, and the principal's yelling that if I hit him, I'll go to jail cause of state law protecting teachers!!!
I demanded a hearing with the School Board, and I demanded the school nurse and at least 1 female teacher examine my daughter, taking measurements of bruises, etc.
The night of the meeting I was there and on the agenda. Those spineless bastards could only murmur some bullshit about 'schoools need to be able to discipline because of transient problems"!! I told them I agree wholeheartedly with discipline and would have lead the cheerleading section if he'd have busted her butt with a paddle or whatever--but I know state law doesn't allow a child to be hit with a damn medal chair! And I also told them, the 'transiency' issue was a bunch of BS--we were the 2nd or 3rd largest landowner in that whole area!
I know that schools have to report abuse of children to the LEO--that is one thing teachers and school administrators are taught to watch for!! Yet, the spineless wonders have no problem with a male teacher whacking a kid! And an attorney told me I might as well forget it.
