Feldman said this morning that the "saturation level" of info getting to to the jury through the media was beyond anything they anticipated (A&E ran special about Body Farm, brought up Samantha Runnion's perp being acquitted and the enormous quantity of news articles which might affect jury's opinion in this case). Judge has said he might consider sequestering the jury during deliberations. He also said he might informally talk to the jury about watching particular programs (Body Farm stuff, etc.).

I would be interested to know exactly what the judge will say to jury - probably something very general - saying "just ignore what you saw - it's not relavent in this case" - but - I think it should be more detailed - I mean you can't really just forget what you saw or heard. For example - with regard to the A&E special on the body farm - He should say - "You should not draw any conclusions as to the merit of the science or infer anything about any of the witnesses you've heard or not heard based on what you may have seen on that program. You must attempt to "block out" all that you hear or see which occurrs outside this courtroom - blah blah blah - you get my drift. The judge really needs to hammer things home with them - not just gloss it over - I hope he does get through to them.

I think they should have been sequestered.
