My very first trip in 1956 was on a converted Victory ship. She had been the Tusculum Victory and built in 1945. Extremely hot in the south Pacific...No A/C.

"All hands on deck" ping! - Just heard this on KSFO - the USS McCampbell will be commissioned at 11 AM this morning, Saturday, 8/17/02 at piers 30-32 in San Francisco. There will be a military flyover as part of the celebration.
