Excellent info. It's amazing how they can take designs that are hard enough to do on paper and then replicate them to 240' in the middle of the night while not being able to see their work as it progresses. Impressive.

I'm sure that if we'd heard of these things in my college days, we'd made a few cartiods or leminscate figures or something totally bizarre too.

I like the second one of those links - they were clever enough to make an eight-pointed design, and thereby avoid going for the easy and obvious six-pointed (or some multiple thereof) designs that are so common. Not that the ease of making these things will ever convince some that they're of human origin...
