To: All Although this trial has captivated us all, and although the testimony and the sordid detail of this case are enthralling, and although everybody is on one side of the fence or the other. The most important element seems to have been lost in the fray. And that element is Danielle. A child has died - whether by foul play, accident or natural causes, a little one is dead. I know that no one means to objectify her or forget her - but that is what is happening. I am just as guilty of this as anyone. In the end, this case is not about swinging, pornography or dirty dancing, it is about a dead child. No matter how seemy the VD's appear, they lost their daughter and now have to listen to this greusome testimony. They may never know the truth about what happened. No matter how creepy DAW may appear, it is possible that they have the wrong perp and if they do - this man's life is over no matter how the trial ends. There is compelling evidence on both sides, albiet mostly circumstantial. Contrary to the idiocy of a few people, it is well understood that NO ONE has ever dismissed the horrible tragedy of what happened to Danielle. NO ONE advocates a killer going free.

However, since DW is also a human being, it is right to be certain that he is not someone's political pawn.

Sadly, there are those that cannot comprehend how important that is. They are "hang first.....ask questions later".

So where is the real lack of compassion and search for truth? I dare say it lies with those who understand that both sweet little Danielle and David Westerfield have equal worth on this earth and in God's eyes.
