I'm in! I'm one of the more "relaxed" homeschoolers, I'll bet. Finally, minority status! LOL
So I'm coming out as an "unschooler" I guess. Hate that term, I prefer life learning :-) Or independent study :-)

The Free Republic Network has chapters that are geographic and also chapters that are subject matter related. Homeschooling would almost certainly qualify as a subject matter chapter.
The network provides virtual meeting facilities, private fora, and many other advantages for chapters. The web stuff is, I think, already almost completely set up to be customized by the chapter.
Diotima is, I think, in charge of helping new chapters get set up. I would suggest contacting her about how to set up a new chapter of the FR Network.
