At all of the places I stopped on the trip, there were 3 motels where I couldn't get through to the toll free 866 number that MSN connects to to find the local access number. Some motels have strictly limited phone service. The other places all worked fine, and I never had a long distance charge.

Swerve says they're accessible toll free internationally too. Do you recall seeing anything about that ?
