I have a very good reason not to go to the movies that have these people in it. They ruin the movie for me. Just the idea that alec baldwin portrayed Gen. Jimmy Dolittle makes me ill. So why should I go to something that I dislike and put money in their pocket?
Blockbusters usually take enormous amounts of money to make. There can be millions of theatre goers who flock to see the movie but if they don't clear their costs because a small amount of people decided they didn't want to see the movie because of that one actor, the actor's career is ruined.

a small amount of people decided they didn't want to see the movie because of that one actor, the actor's career is ruined. I think you are overstating your impact. The actors will remain popular or not based on whether their work is good. If they have talent, and the story is good, most people could care less what political organizations the people belong to. It will sell tickets. If it gets in your way of enjoying the movie, fine. But don't think you have enough impact to change anything.

So why should I go to something that I dislike and put money in their pocket? If you don't like something, you shouldn't see it. But it's still quite narrow minded just to rule out a film just because of the star's political agenda.
