Not to mention lying in wait to harass citizens for MINOR traffic violations. It just goes to show that revenues outweigh fighting real crime in many cases, and is far more profitable. Very sad in my opinion.

I think vice squads serve a purpose -- prostitution areas attract serial killers. Thriving prostitution does not make a town safer.... nor does porn keep men from committing sex crimes. Almost every rapist has a houseful of pornography. Police don't readily report this - reporters must ask specific questions, and they rarely do. I always did ask if the perp possessed porn when I was reporting such crimes and arrests. Almost always the answer was yes.
