BTW, I have some 7,500 year old wood that was dredged up out of Santa Rosa Sound, Florida. It was once part of a coastal cypress swamp 7,500 years ago. That's when I think the Gulf Of Mexico was re-flooded like the Black Sea.

Funny you mention cypress. I spent a couple hours reading about thyia trees (which are cypress) last night. The ancients built temples near them, and in their groves, and burned the the resin from these trees in ceremonies, believed to be the origin of the term "Holy Smoke".
