Animals are very clever...they know how much we love them, and they act on that...they can act all mad and aloof, because they know we will feel guilty, and then give in to their every whim and desire...

Helga was like that...she tolerated me, but he just absolutely loved BigDom...he was the love of her life...but whenever he would have to go away, either for his Chicago trips, or summer camps with the army, he would be gone for two weeks...I would be here, but I was never good enough for her...

But when Don would return, Helga would be so angry with him...when he first came back, she would holler and scream, and run through the house, she was so happy to see him...but after that initial greeting, she would have nothing to do with him...

She would not let him pet her or play with her...if she was on the couch sleeping, and he came in and tried to see her, she would turn around on the couch, and show her back to him...she would not even look at him...

It always took her another day or two, to forgive him for leaving her...and then she was daddys girl again...it was all too funny...
