My favorite vacation was when my husband and I went to Las Vegas for the first time in 2000 and that is when we got married. No, it wasn't spur of the moment and Elvis didn't marry us! LOL! It was planned, very tasteful, and a real live minister married us.
My husbands family- okay, his mother, is very much the meddling type and almost caused his sister to not get married because she took control over everything. By going away we did everything just how we wanted. We had a mini-suite at the Luxor with a beautiful veiw of the mountains. We had so much fun and wished we could have stayed at least another week. I would never move to Las Vegas itself, but I really love the desert and maybe someday we'll be fortunate to move to the southwest.
Get well soon Secretary Rumsfeld! We miss you. And a belated Happy Birthday, July 9th, to the bestest Secretary of Defense EVER!
WASHINGTON (AP) - Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld had three hours of surgery on his left hand Monday.
Doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center performed the surgery to correct a problem caused by arthritis at the base of Rumsfeld's thumb, the Pentagon ( news - web sites) said. The surgery did not require general anesthesia.
Rumsfeld will wear a cast on his left forearm for the next four to six weeks, the statement said.
Rumsfeld, who turns 70 Tuesday, is right-handed.
See you tomorrow.
I'll tell you about my favorite vacation tomorrow, I've run out of gas and my arms feel like lead wieghts. ;-/
My best vacation was not quite in the summer - it was May - when I was 25. My 18-year-old cousin and I traveled through Europe for three weeks on about $14 per day - youth hostels, bread and cheese picnics, the whole bit. I celebrated my 26th birthday in Lausanne, Switzerland and we went to see "Tootsie" dubbed in French.
The Swiss are watching more than their precision watches now that Chelsea Clinton has arrived in Geneva. The former First Daughter is there for a one-month internship at the World Health Organization. Her summer project involves improving the lives of children. Chelsea's mop-topped beau, Ian Klaus, can't be far behind ...
The WashPost's Lloyd Groves ponders:
Months ago we published a photograph of President Bush with a document clip strangely attached to one of his fingers, and we speculated fruitlessly as to its purpose....
Like brother, like brother's master? The Washington chapter of Lab Rescue, a group devoted to finding good homes for Labrador retrievers, has posted this notice to place Buck, the 4-year-old half brother of Buddy, the deceased dog of Bill Clinton: "Housetrained. ... Owner give-up, said good with kids. Is dominant and growly around other males, but OK with foster dog, though clearly in charge. Good looking, but needs obedience with strong owner." No comment yesterday from the former president's office. link to entire column.
WHICH Hollywood A-lister should be more careful around journalists? The editors of a glossy whose cover he recently graced have been spreading rumors that the celeb - who is constantly dogged by gay rumors - is HIV-positive . . .
WHICH old-school musician is on the verge of coming out of the closet? It's well known in the industry that he prefers boys, but many of his blue-haired fans - who still swear Liberace "just loved his mother" - will be shocked . . .
Democratic US Senate candidate Ron Kirk is getting some help for his Texas campaign from former President Bill Clinton. The former Dallas mayor will have Clinton on hand for a July 17, 2002 fund raising event in New York City. Kirk's Republican rival, Attorney General John Cornyn, has criticized Kirk for his fund-raising trips outside Texas and his aides have ridiculed the Clinton fund raiser. source.
Hands off, perv!

Normally, I would agree but, may I recommend an ancient flick called "Summertime?" It's in Italy (Venice), not France, but I must admit I'd have been tempted with that absolutely wonderful...what's his name in the lead (please, somebody with a brain help me).
You are referring to one of the sexiest men ever to grace the big screen:Rossano Brazzi
You're not the only one who'd be sorely tempted if he were pursuing you...he was gorgeous! Good movie, too. Oops, wrong thread.
My favorite summertime activity is to get out of the South to ANYWHERE that's not hot. Our Maine trip a couple of years ago was terrific (and cool).
*****GRIN*****
Aren't they adorable?!
Don't forget. We now have a new black activist. He has joined the likes of Al Sharptongue, and Johnny Cock roach.
Michael Jackson.

Check out the body language. He he he he, the Prime Minister's wife looks like she doesn't want the Perv any where near her, LOL,LOL,LOL.
I wouldn't exactly call him a black activist! LOL!
Had a lot of thunderstorms last night. There's nothing like the sound of rain to lull you to sleep.
T'cup, make sure the boys don't get lost in the video game section. Mine always do. LOL!
ROTFL with that pic of Señora Aznar! She's saying, "You disgusto! Don't even think it!" Hehehehe.
Mountaineer, my guess for the HIV+ gay-rumor-dogged-celeb--Keanu Reaves.
I hope your shopping trip is pleasant and peaceful.
It's my favorite musical.
