I love to walk the beach in the very early morning. That is my favorite part of going to Florida. I tend to waken at 5:30 or so, and there is no one on the beach except shore birds. I grab a cup of coffee and just walk and look at the water and the birds. It is very soothing.

I like to sit by the lakes up in Wisconsin early in the morning for the same reason. Calm and peaceful. I never get tired of it.

My dear pastor of the church I'm leaving (only because of distance)....

...takes small sabbaticals of overnight or two just to walk on the ocean shore for hours on end, comtemplating God's place for him.......or focusing on new sermon material.

Usually there's at least one family living on the beachside, who will put him up for the night.
