I HATED the YaYa Book...actually threw it across the room when I finished it - but I enjoyed the movie - but...I only go to movies to be "entertained" and not to think or analyze....

I did not read the book(s) and there were some good things about the movie-the acting and the costumes were great - lots of pearls and hats and there were some funny lines...
