Swinging, the practice of swapping romantic partners, has had a makeover.
Gone are the big-hair, gold-chain '70s-style swingers who gathered in suburban tract homes. Today's energetic couplings have made their way into mainstream resorts and upscale commercial venues.
"There are people who see the market potential and are opening clubs and agencies to cater to the lifestyle," said Tony Lanzaratta, a former Los Angeles police officer who is executive director of NASCA, a national organization of swingers. "The lifestyle tour and travel industry has more than tripled in the last five years."

While we can decry the practice on moral grounds, True Freedom means defending that which you vehamently disagree with. The rights of the minority are just as important as the rights of the majority. What skeletons might be hiding in your closet that someone else might find offensive?

And our concern that they're being trampled on comes not from some narrow-minded desire to enforce a homogeneous, joyless life. Rather, from a knowledge of the consequences.

I think I saw that same one. I really have to admire you for your tact and diplomacy in using the phrase, "not great looking" and not something like say, "paper bag ugly" like I would have used.
I agree that folks should be free to screw up their lives. I also have the right to try to convince you of the harm you do and encourage you to spend your precious life in creating more good and less harm.
No one can harm just themselves. Ask your spouse, your siblings, your parents, your friends. When you are hurting they hurt - if they truly care for you.

If this is true, and this article and the statistics on single parents and divorce are true, then this is a sad comment on the values of this country.
