I know most people say "A Time to Kill" was Grisham's best, but I offer the oddball opinion. It is the only one of his books I've read, and I thought it was so awful I've never bothered to try any of the others. Agree re Tom Cruise, though. I wouldn't cross the street to see one of his movies.

Try Grisham's 'Skipping Christmas.' Great book. I do like Grisham's characterizations of people, they are just a bit quirky. And I'm with you on Tom Cruise. They always announce Cruise as the lead, and I just cringe inside (The Firm, both Mission Impossible movies, etc.)
