In lieu of gifts, the pair ask guests to "bring along a lively/lovely addition to our garden."

A white tent is visible on the property of actress Julia Roberts, Wednesday, July 3, 2002, in Arroyo Seco outside Taos, N.M. Amid speculation as to whether a wedding or merely a Fourth of July bash is being planned at Roberts' 40-acre estate, locals weren't saying too much about Roberts, whom they seem to have adopted as their own. Be the life of the party, grease the palm of the town's Water Management official and bring her a water permit!

It's high desert, and in drought conditions, so no surprise the land looks a bit sparse this summer. Taos is a phenomenally gorgeous place - the light is awesome - particularly as the sun sets - the colors of the sky and the mountains change just as if you're looking through a kaleidescope. It is cool in the evenings and a dry heat during the day - usually not oppressive. If you want a terrific place there to get steaks, freepmail me.
