A friend of mine has won several first and second place awards in a statewide newspaper contest, and the AP bureau in our state capital rejected her, saying she needed more experience. At what? Writing more award-winning stories? They also came right out and told her that they had heard she once attended a Republican rally, and as there were no Republicans in their bureau, they didn't think it would work out. Blackballed for being a Pubbie (and she's not even a very conservative one, at that!)

Isn't that the saddest commentary about the
main strem media? We'll have to use our new
resources and work like the dickens to do what
