Looks like Karenna is what Chels aspires to be - someone not terribly intelligent who never has to work for a living, who hangs on the fringes of literary and political society with no credentials, and who - eventually - will run for and be elected to office as part of her legacy and birthright.

Chelz and Karenna appear to want to follow in the footsteps of the innumerable Kennedys who have been elected to public office, some of whom are dumber than a box of rocks (e.g., Patrick) but still get enough equally befuddled citizens to vote for them.
