As you suggested in the last thread, perhaps Al and Tipper are beefing up to get the overweight folks to vote for them. Aren't there more overweights than skinnies these days? They may on to something....Something about flying the friendly skies...hee hee....

LOOK MA, NO SWEAT--thanks for the tip about deodorant and underarm shields...

Oh no, I hope I didn't give Brazille any ideas!

What in the world is going on here?! I've heard of people's hair turning white because of fright, but this is most confusing!

Serena won btw, and Venus is my favorite because she shouted out at the clintoon from the tennis court, "I want lower taxes!" Or some such dig from which tournament I don't remember.

LOL! Well... it has been raining here for 12 days straight, at least a week of non-stop all day rain so we were cutting them a bit of slack. But at this point even my laid back husband is starting to get peeved. They called last Tuesday and said they were ready to start that afternoon but never showed up, it rained. I called them Thursday and never got a call back. Mr. Betty has a very long fuse but after no call back it got much shorter.

He's also very worried about that big hole being such a hazzard. Now they're going to have to kill all those poor tadpoles! Bastards!

Mr.B & you have a right to be more that peeved.
The no-call-back routine is inexcusable in any endeavor.

When the weather breaks, set up a tent on their doorstep,
and stay there until this puppy is put to bed. Good luck with it.

HE'S HIS OWN WORST ENEMY II: Dennis Cohen, 47, had a problem with his
stove, so he decided to fix it himself. He disconnected the gas pipe --
without turning off the gas first -- then went to the bathroom. When he
returned, he was pondering the situation when he decided to light a
cigarette. The resulting explosion destroyed 10 apartments in his 130-
unit complex in Encino, Calif., and left Cohen with second- and
third-degree burns over 60 percent of his body. Fire investigators were
disappointed that Cohen died before they could interview him a second
time to get more details. (Los Angeles Times) ...Such as the answer to
their most pressing question, "What are you, some kind of idiot?"

Was that the big apt. fire in California a few weeks ago? Do you think they (the powers that give us such things) will classify this as a smoking related death? Too bad albore doesn't smoke!

HLL, don't you have an interesting story to tell about the last couple of days? Hmmmmmmm?!

Yet another genius:

JUST A FLESH WOUND: Corey O'Connor, 23, of Toledo, Ohio, was hospitalized
after an incident in a bar's parking lot. A witness said she was having
an argument with a man when O'Connor attempted to break it up. As
O'Connor tried to pull a gun out of his pocket, she says, it went off.
The bullet struck him in the leg -- after passing through his scrotum.
He was reported in serious condition. (Toledo Blade) ...Everyone agrees
it's "serious," yet most seem to laugh at the story.

GWB is up and about after his procedure this a.m.:

President Bush transferred presidential powers to Vice President Dick Cheney for more than two hours Saturday during a routine colon screening that ended in a clean bill of health.

It was only the second time in history that the Constitution's presidential disability clause was invoked. Bush was sedated during the 20-minute procedure.

"The president continues to be in outstanding health," said Air Force Col. Richard Tubb, the White House physician who led the examination. "No polyps were found, no abnormalities were found."

The procedure, a colonoscopy, was done at the well-equipped medical facility in Camp David, the presidential retreat in western Maryland. Bush felt well enough afterward to play with his dogs and take a 4-mile walk with the first lady and White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card and his wife. He then went to the gym for a light workout. full story

Have you seen this? WorldCom's CEO writes a letter to President Bush:

Yesterday you rightly expressed outrage and concern about past accounting irregularities at WorldCom. I want you to know that we, the current management team, are equally surprised and outraged. That is why we immediately brought this matter to the attention of the SEC and the public. I am proud that our own people discovered these irregularities and had the courage and professionalism to act quickly. rest of story.

Ooooohhhhhhh! Yowzer! That reminds me... A surfing buddy of mine was paddling out when another surfer lost control of his board and it struck her in the buttocks. It was awful. We took her to the hospital (it was a large deep wound and I'll leave it at that) and they admitted her. But for about two hours she lay on a gurny in the hallway. Every few minutes someone would walk by with a friend and lift up the sheet and say, "You want to see a real pain in the ass?"

Meanies! ;-)

Nice links - thanks. The guy is saying the right
things, and if he's only been on board a couple
of months - I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

The level of accounting corruption is really astounding.
If our society accepts lying and stealing, which are
really the same thing - then we are sunk and will
ourselves pass into the dust bin of history. And rightly so.

Draging this forward from the previous thread:

It's great to be a grandma, just the revenge alone is worth all the "fun" as a parent! :-)

Oh honey, you hit the nail squarely on the head!

LOL! Thank you IG. :-) My daughter at that age wanted to wear stripes with flowers, Polka dots with checks and long sleeves in summer just because she liked the dress. I let her wear it to nursery school. The teacher gave me a talking to because it was so hot. I had to explain after fighting with her for two weeks I had show her what mommy was trying to help her understand and let her wear it.

The dress waited until Nov. to come out again.

Btw, ever since you posted about the Mrs. Smith's chocolate pie they scream at me in the grocery store, "Buy meeeeeeeeeee!" "I'm so delious!" Who could resist? I found another variety, Soda Fountain. It has a flour crust instead of the chocolate cookie crust on the regular pie.

I think I still like the regular old chocolate pie the best, although the new wasn't bad. :-)
