back in my old neighborhood I was friends with a guy named Dom (his name was Dominick too)
I was friends with his wife first
Karen was hippy like me
my last few years in old neighborhood I became friends with tommy masciotta
we would sit on stoop and talk (my dog liked to take the air)

one day Dom told me he knew tommy from neighborhood in Brooklyn they had both grown up in
he said ''tommy's dad was one of the dons on Sackett St''

I was too shy to ask Dom what a don is?
it sounded like mob but maybe it just means respected gentleman?
