No, I'm not familiar with him or the series. What's the basic storyline?

In Gaiman's universe, there are 7 brothers and sisters, known as the Endless, that have existed since the beginning of time. One of them, Dream, was captured when a coven of wizards set out to capture Death. The story arc begins when Dream escapes and has to deal with what several centuries of absence did to his realm.

The series lasted for several years. Along the way, Gaiman set stories in Greek mythology, the French Revolution and medieval England. This is the only literate comic book I have ever read. It does have showy art work, but IMO, the graphics do not get in the way of the story and Gaiman makes tons of cultural and literary allusions.

You may be able to check out the tradeback collections from your local library.
