Our good friend the Saudis. Weren't 15 of the 19 9-11 highjackers Saudis? Good article.
BTW, I had seen some of yesterday's posts re: the 9th Circus Court. I went to their web site, and they show 45 judges, but didn't indicate whether they were active or not. Sometimes this court makes good decisions, but so much depends on which judges are hearing the case. I have actually sat in on one of their reviews, and it was fascinating. They made a good ruling on the case - it was a case regarding the Clean Water Act, and ruled against the radical environmental group. I could almost see which way the ruling would go based on the judges' questions, although I've heard it said by experienced lawyers that that often isn't an indication of which way they would rule.
Hey .38, The 9th Circuit Court currently has only 24 active judges rather than the normal 28. They're 4 short thanks to the democrats in the Senate holding up the President's judicial nominees. Therefore, senior or inactive judges have to pick up some of the case load. Such was the case with Judge Goodwin. He is a Senior Judge. There is an almost equal number of senior or inactive judges. Fourteen of the active 24 judges were appointed by Clinton. Of the remaining 10, three were appointed by Carter, three by Reagan and 4 by Bush 41. Three quarters of the active judges on that bench were appointed under democrat administrations. I heard Rush say they have more rulings overturned than any other court.
