Good job Gran! I think you and I are about the only ones still incapable of starting a thread. ;-)

Mini is working with a bank to get the funds going there, but she reported that the bank was almost as clueless as she about the format. My suggestion "Just open an account with your son's name" for crying out loud.
Things like this "just don't happen, here."
Well, they just did happen, and those who are able, and who care please step up, like many have done right here in The Guild.

I don't think it's a lack of desire to post, but I'm not sure we're allowed to solicit funds on the site. I know that those who are runnng for political office cannot.

Am I correct?

If the management gives permission, I could help.

Correct on politicos, but haven't I seen other requests for help on FR?

To me, a kidnapped, innocent, baby deserves all that freepers can do for him.

Good, not great, but good news.

Someone talented please throw up the thread, link it back to the Guild if possible, and I'll continue doing what I'm doing from here.

Thank all of you so much. JL

Has anyone freeped you re: a thread for a fundraiser for Teacup? Or should we just get an address posted on the Guild and link to it from other threads?

I'm waiting to get permission from mini-teacup to post a thread.

She says that she has set up the fund at the bank.

For the moment, it looks like Freepmail and The Guild is where info gets posted.

mini-teacup has said yes to the thread. We can't ask for solicitations. If they want more info maybe have a please click here link. I'll freepmail you the url for the missing child page.

She has registered with Nat'l Missing Children Center, but it doesn't seem to be in the current data bank.

Anyway, if you could post the thread, it would be much appreciated.

Hi, all - just got in from a lengthy road trip on the - I am not making this up - Robert C. Byrd Highway (one of many in my state). Unfortunately, I have to run out now to a town meeting, but as soon as I have a chance, I want to get up to speed on the Bring Billy Home efforts.

Thanx for pointing that out. I was aware that political candidates couldn't do fund raising at this site, but I was unaware that other's couldn't. I certainly didn't intend to circumvent the rules.

The Seven Dwars and the Pope

The 7 dwarfs go to the Vatican, and because they are THE dwarfs, they are ushered in to see the Pope.

Dopey leads the pack. "Son," says the Pope, "What can I do for you?"

Dopey replies, "Excuse me, your Excellency, but are there any dwarf nuns in Rome?"

The Pope wrinkles his brow at the odd question, thinks for a moment and answers, "No, Dopey, there are no dwarf nuns in Rome."

In the background, a few of the dwarfs start giggling. Dopey turns around and gives them a glare, silencing them. Dopey turns back, "Your Worship, are there any dwarf nuns in all of Europe?"

The Pope, puzzled now, again thinks for a moment and then answers, "No, Dopey, there are no dwarf nuns in Europe."

This time, all the other dwarfs burst into laughter. Once again, Dopey turns around and silences them with an angry glare.

Dopey turns back to the Pope and says, "Mr. Pope, are there ANY dwarf nuns anywhere in the world?"

"I'm sorry, my son, there are no dwarf nuns anywhere in the world."

The other dwarfs collapse into a heap, rolling and laughing, pounding the floor, tears rolling down their cheeks as they begin chanting...

"Dopey screwed a penguin!

Dopey screwed a penguin!"

As I remember I have seen funds at local institutions mentioned at FR when the account is registered and is listed on the National Missing Persons database with Law Enforcement.

I'm not sure Jim Rob has ever had an official policy on this.
