Good morning...its a bright sunshiney day here today...will go up to the mid 70s...Summer this way, is just wonderful...

Palo, sure hope Bill gets that cooler working right...you just had the repair man there, so hopefully, all you need is a minor adjustment...Glad Miss Lulu is so happy with her walkie...

Dont really know what is up, if there is true censorship going on around here at FR...dont hang out an awfully lot on the political threads...I will say this tho...

I have seen threads where if one disagrees too vehemently with some Bush policies, there certainly are posters who tend to go off the deep end...And I have to wonder why...dissent, inquiry, vigilance, investigation, and loyalty to ones own beliefs, may very well lead to stiff disagreement with a particular Bush policy...

And thats good to my way of thinking...because once a person, takes on the role of agreeing completely with each and every thing that a President does, we are in trouble...thats just my opinon of course...I just think that once we march lock step in agreement, with our President, then he is on his way to doing whatever he wants...

I dont understand how anyone can agree completely, on every issue, with any elected official...we have to pick our battles on some issues, and leave the others...But by voicing our concern and perhaps dissent on issues, by showing that we are not a cluster of robots, we keep our elected officials on their toes...they know that they are only one election away from being out of work, and they should be kept nervous about retaining those jobs...if dissent, and criticism are warranted, and a person sees it as such, ,what in the world is wrong with calling any elected official, from the lowliest local official, to the President of the United States, to task for their decisions, if we disagree with them...

I find censorship of ideas to be ugly, and dangerous...it leads to what I call 'group-think'...In this wonderful country, dissent and criticism are part and parcel of the political process, and that is what keeps the process new and alive...censor people for their ideas, silence their voices, and certainly we are headed for trouble...

As I said, I dont often go onto the political threads, but when I do, I have noticed that there are some who cannot abide criticism of Pres. Bush, and they almost do seem to think that anyone who dares criticize Bush should be censored and banned from FR...

I dont know how many folks there are like this and what influence they may have, and what that will do to FR, if this kind of thought is allowed to flourish at FR....

End of rant...

thank you andysmom for your perceptive post
I am political drop-out so rarely go on political threads too
the only issue I got hot and bothered about was corruption, which is neither left wing nor right wing issue
I never cared that clinton had oral sex with monica in oval office
Bill said oval office was inappropriate, and he should have taken her to motel in West VA
but I have nothing against sex anywhere
my problem was with his criminality
Bush is honest wholesome person
my leftist friends never saw clinton's criminality and were furious at him for being a Republican
they expected him to be a liberal
perhaps conservatives are disappointed Bush is not more conservative
I may not join their dissent
but I truly believe life is to be found when all ideas are allowed free expression
Love, Palo
