I'll just betcha this dog had some basset in him, then. It was one arooooo after another. Longer legs, though, and more fur than in the pictures I've seen here. Wonderful friendly dog but totally ignored his owners when they told him to stop - LOL

Bassets are extremely stubborn, and rarely listen to their food slaves(Bassets dont have owners, they have food slaves)...

Some people actually get rid of bassets, because altho they loved their looks, they just have a hard time coping with a dog that is so stubborn...

And their nose is probably second only to the bloodhound...when they catch a scent, off they go, and they will not pay attention to you...they must be kept on a leash, otherwise, they will take off(as Palo well knows, from experience with Lulu), and go where the scent leads them...

The dog across the street from us, named Violet, is 1/2 basset and 1/2 beagle...she has the porky body of a basset, tho her legs are not as short as a bassets, and her ears are not as long as a bassets...

But she has the barrel chest, and she is one of the most stubborn dogs I have ever seen...she is stubborn and brazen, and listens to no one...she has her own mind, and thinks humans know nothing...that proves she is part basset...
