You know what, Mom? In other years when wildfires threatened our very green area and I had 3 dogs, they were all I worried about. Now that they have all gone on to their rewards, I don't worry. I would jump in my car and leave. Priorities sort themselves out, don't they?

Priorities change, when circumstances change...I know, whenever I see people having to evacuate because of fires, or floods, or any other disasters, I often worry about their pets...because sometimes there is not time to get their pets, or sometimes they just cant take their pets along...

I remember watching a program once, about some area where there were terrible floods, and all the people in this area had to evacuate, and many could not take their pets along...

After the rains ceased, and the flood waters started to go down, and all the humans were safe and sound, rescue units went out to homes on their lists, where people had to leave their pets....

The rescue teams went in and got those poor frightened animals...some animals were in their homes, some had gotten onto the roofs, some were stranded up in trees...I always worry about people in times of disaster, but I also do worry about the pets...its nice to know that rescue teams are willing to go in and rescue the pets...
