I bet it was nice for him growing up with his grandma
I spent a week living with my grandma when I was 4 years old and my mom was giving birth to my brother in hospital
I found it relaxing living with my grandma
my grandmother seemed to ignore me more
and we'd play cards together all afternoon
it was a dreamier environment

I guess he liked being raised by his grandparents ok...his dad, once he got out of the hospital, used to come and visit him all the time, as much as he could...for a while, his dad even lived at the house with his parents, and my husband...

And there was a big extended family of aunts and uncles, none of whom had any kids...so my husband got lots of attention from the aunts and uncles also...

So for him, it worked out ok...except that he never knew his mother....

His mom just left, and never came back...its odd, because women usually take their children, even when they leave their husbands...and she had both her parents still alive, so you would have thought, that if she could not take care of my husband, she would have left him with her parents..

But she did not...she just left everything behind, and left...

I am sure there is a story behind this, but my husband does not know what it is...

But I am glad that my husband had a large extended family on his fathers side, that was glad to have him, and raised him lovingly...
